If you missed the launch, the Vivo X Fold 6 launch seems to be nearing as This phone has started doing the rounds on the internet. Vivo hasn’t confirmed anything about its next-gen foldable, but This product was spotted on a certification website earlier this year. Now, a reliable tipster, Digital Chat Station, on the Chinese microblogging website Weibo, has revealed key specs of the Vivo X Fold 6. This device is said to come with a few upgrades over its predecessor, the Vivo X Fold 5 (review), which was a well-rounded but trailed behind the other foldables in the segment. The X Fold 6 may well be more capable.

Vivo X Fold 6 specifications (expected)

As per the tipster, the Vivo X Fold 6 is expected to feature a dual-cell battery setup comprising 3,915mAh and 2,845mAh units, taking the combined capacity to 7,000mAh. This marks a significant 1,000mAh increase over its predecessor, which previously held the title for the largest battery in its category, at least in the country. This will further push the boundary and could potentially make the X Fold 6 the best battery foldable smartphone, if optimised well.

The Vivo X Fold 6 could also ramp up its cameras, bringing the performance closer to that of a regular slab-based smartphone. This device will reportedly feature a 200MP camera. It’s likely to be a primary camera, similar to the one used on the Vivo X300 series. This phone is also tipped to come with an improved periscope camera, but details about it remain under wraps at the moment. Vivo X Fold 5 (for representation)

Beyond all that, This phone may also put its performance woes behind it with a premium-tier-grade chipset. It remains to be seen whether the OEM will go with a MediaTek or a Snapdragon SoC. There are minor adjustments expected on the phone’s display as well, along with a new ID design and peripheral accessories (as translated from Chinese). It isn’t clear yet, but This phone could support the same teleconverter kit as the X300 series.

The kit is said to pair with a telephoto lens to extend zoom range and enhance portrait shots with a longer focal length. If accurate, it could make the foldable more appealing not just to professionals, but to photography enthusiasts as well.

That’s all we know for now. Based on the rumoured upgrades, the Vivo X Fold 6 is shaping up to be a device worth waiting for. That said, an imminent launch seems unlikely. If The company follows its usual rollout strategy, This device will debut in China first before arriving in the country, likely with a wait of at least three to four months.
