In case you were waiting for clarity, vivo T5 Pro 5G will launch in the country on April 15th and is set to become available on Flipkart.

Vivo is set to launch the Vivo T5 Pro 5G in the country on April 15th as the next model in its T-series lineup. The phone is expected to sit slightly higher than last year’s model in terms of pricing, moving closer to the upper mid-segment segment.

The latest update comes from Vivo’s Flipkart microsite, which confirms the phone is set to become available in two colour options, Cosmic Black and Glacier Blue. The listing also confirms that This product will run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip, aligning with an earlier Geekbench appearance that revealed a 1+3+4 core setup, Adreno 810 GPU, 12GB RAM, and Android 16.

Vivo T5 Pro gets a chipset downgrade

The chipset confirmation is the more notable detail here. The previous Vivo T4 Pro 5G used a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip, which sits a tier above the 7s series on spec sheets. Early Geekbench scores for the T5 Pro — 1,214 single-core and 3,146 multi-core — are also slightly lower than what the T4 Pro delivered in our internal testing.

That makes this an unusual change for a ‘Pro’ upgrade. It points to a different set of priorities this time. Vivo may be managing costs or focusing on efficiency and thermals rather than pushing peak performance. In practice, the difference may not be as noticeable in everyday use, but it does shift expectations around what a generational update should bring.

Vivo T5 Pro battery is the main focus

If performance is not the headline, battery is. Vivo has already confirmed a 9,020mAh unit, which stands out in this segment. Most phones in the Rs 30,000 – Rs 35,000 range stay closer to the 5,000mAh – 7,000mAh range, with only a few pushing higher. For comparison, the T4 Pro offered a 6,500mAh battery. This jump is significant and places endurance at the centre of the T5 Pro’s priority list.

Pricing also reflects a move up. Leaks suggest a range between Rs 30,000 and Rs 36,999, compared to Rs 27,999 for the base T4 Pro at launch. That puts it just below devices like the OnePlus Nord 6 and Realme’s GT series, where shoppers expect a more balanced mix of performance, cameras, and battery.

The T5 Pro brings a much larger battery and updated software, but pairs that with a chipset that may not offer a clear performance jump over its predecessor. For people who prioritise battery life and steady day-to-day performance, this could still make sense. For those looking for a clear upgrade in processing power or gaming performance, competing options in the same price range may feel more complete.
