Fresh off the announcement desk — the Vivo T5 Lite could launch in the country by the end of May, while the Realme P4R may arrive in June.

Vivo and Realme may soon bring two new smartphones to India’s crowded affordable and mid-segment market. Tipster Abhishek Yadav claims that the Vivo T5 Lite could launch in the country by the end of May, while the Realme P4R is expected to arrive sometime in June. Both are tipped to be powered by entry-level MediaTek 5G chipsets. Neither brand has confirmed the phones officially yet.

Leaked specifications and features

As per the tipster, the Vivo T5 Lite is expected to feature either the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 or Dimensity 6400 chipset. Previous information shared by us also suggests This product may launch as the Vivo T5 Lite 44W, as that’s how This product was spotted on BIS.

If that happens, Vivo seems to be making an upgrade over last year’s Vivo T4 Lite 5G. The older model launched under Rs 10,000 with a Dimensity 6300 chip, 6,000mAh battery, and relatively slow 15W charging. The upcoming T5 Lite is tipped to increase battery capacity to 6,500mAh while moving to much faster 44W charging. That could make a noticeable difference in daily use. The T4 Lite reportedly took close to two hours for a full charge. Phones with a similar 6,500mAh and 44W combination, like the iQOO Z10x, generally finish charging much faster. That said, the chipset may not be upgraded and that’s what would keep the cost in check in today’s era of rising prices.

Vivo also appears to be focusing more on durability this time. The T5 Lite is expected to come with an IP65 rating, SGS Five-Star drop resistance certification, and military-grade durability claims. Two new colour options, Wave Blue and Twilight Shadow, are also tipped.

The Realme P4R, On another note, looks like it may lean harder into performance. The phone is expected to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset, which sits above the Dimensity 6300 and 6400 in performance and gaming capability. That’s the same chipset as the Realme P4 and Infinix GT 30, both of which were priced in the sub-Rs 20,000 segment when they launched.

Based on the current leaks, the Vivo T5 Lite could land around the Rs 15,000 mark, while the Realme P4R may sit closer to the Rs 20,000 mark. Vivo’s strategy looks centred around battery life, durability, and everyday usability. Realme, On another note, seems to be chasing shoppers who want stronger gaming performance without stretching into premium-tier territory. If you’ve been hunting for a affordable 5G buy, it’s worth keeping an eye on these phones, though the definition of affordable has considerably changed nowadays.
