In case you were waiting for clarity, the Vivo T5 could be an affordable version of the T5 Pro, which was introduced last month.
Following the launch of the Vivo T5 Pro (review) in the country, the OEM appears to be gearing up for another addition to the T-series lineup. The upcoming device is likely to be the vanilla Vivo T5, which has now surfaced on the Google Play Supported Devices list. This certification is mandatory for Android smartphones, as it ensures This product is Play Protect certified and ships with official Google apps, along with support for Android’s security and permissions framework.
Vivo T5 could be a rebranded Y31d model
Vivo T5 listing on Google Play Supported Devices
Interestingly, the Vivo T5 has been spotted on the Google Play Supported devices with mode number V2543, which is the same as that of the Vivo Y31d series. The latter was introduced in the market outside India earlier this year as a affordable offering. Vivo Y31d series model number on Google Play Supported devices
Unfortunately, the listing doesn’t reveal the Vivo T5 specifications, but it is expected to debut with a 7,200mAh battery, Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 SoC, IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance rating, and OriginOS 6 software. The phone could come in a couple of colour variants: gold and grey, and sport dual-rear camera setup comprising a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary unit. For selfies and video calling, it may rely on an 8MP snapper in the punch-hole setup.
The Vivo T5 may sport a 6.75-inch LCD display that bears HD+ resolution. Moreover, This device is likely to support 44W charging and offer 6GB RAM + 128GB storage.
Given the expected specifications, the Vivo T5 is likely to be a battery-focused smartphone. Its choice of chipset, which supports 4G, seems to be a decent one if the phone is priced under Rs 15,000. The Moto G57 Power (review) also comes with the same chipset within the segment that outperforms the rivals in major synthetic benchmark apps. That said, it lacks 5G, which may not appeal to people prioritising faster internet speeds.
If the phone launches at an aggressive price point, it could very well be worth waiting for. Otherwise, buyers will find stronger alternatives in the segment, such as the iQOO Z11x, Vivo T5x, and POCO M8 in the sub-Rs 20,000 category. Those willing to stretch their affordable slightly can also consider options like the OnePlus Nord CE5 and Infinix Note Edge in the sub-Rs 25,000 segment.
That said, these details are purely speculative at the moment and are based solely on the Vivo T5’s appearance on the Google Play Supported Devices list. Readers are advised to take this information with a pinch of salt until Vivo makes an official announcement.
