Realme 16x 5G India launch nears as storage variants and colours leak
The Realme 16x is set to launch in the country soon as a tipster has shed details on its possible colours and storage variants. Here's what you can expect.
Fresh off the announcement desk — realme 16x 5G is tipped to launch in the country soon, with model number RMX5270 surfacing via a leak.
Realme isn’t done with the 16 series yet. The Realme 16 Pro+ 5G, Realme 16 Pro 5G, and Realme 16 5G are already out, with the last one landing in the country in April. Now, signs point to one more model joining them soon.
Tipster Abhishek Yadav says the Realme 16x 5G (model number RMX5270) is on the way, and some basics have already surfaced. Nothing is official yet, but with leaks starting to come in, it usually means the launch isn’t too far off. There’s no clarity yet on pricing or a launch date.

This model will succeed the Realme 15x 5G, which launched in October 2025 at Rs 16,999. The spec sheet for the 15x featured a big 6.8-inch display, up to 144Hz refresh rate, Dimensity 6300 chip, 50MP camera, and a large 7,000mAh battery with 60W charging. It was built around battery life and everyday use, getting a high refresh rate in the affordable segment. The 16x could build on this with similar plus points. The 16x should sit below the Realme 16 5G, which uses a Dimensity 6400 Turbo chip. So it’ll likely run on a slightly lower-tier processor and stick to the same formula: large battery, decent display, and a focus on price.
The 4GB RAM option is a hint. Realme is likely targeting the Rs 15,000 – Rs 18,000 range again. That’s a crowded space, with phones like the iQOO Z11x, POCO M8, Lava Blaze Duo 3 and more. At that price, the basics matter more. Battery size, display smoothness, and stable day-to-day performance usually decide which phone people pick. The 15x set a strong benchmark with its 7,000mAh battery, so the 16x will need to at least match that.
If you’re planning to buy a phone in this range and can wait a bit, it makes sense to see what the 16x offers. Even small upgrades in chipset or charging can make a difference over a couple of years of use.
