POCO C81 series India launch set for April 23rd, teased with 6,300mAh battery
The POCO C81 series India launch date has been announced and here's what you can expect from the POCO C81 and POCO C81x.
Fresh off the announcement desk — pOCO is gearing up to launch its next C-series phone in the country on April 23rd, and the early teasers hint at the phone checking the affordable segment basics: a big battery, large screen, and everyday usability. The launch announcement poster confirms a 6,300mAh battery, which is the main highlight here. The poster also mentions POCO C81 “series”, which means we’ll see the launch of the POCO C81 and POCO C81x.
POCO C81 series India launch date
POCO has confirmed the C81 and C81x launch for April 23rd at 12 noon IST. That’s when the confirmed price and specifications will be announced. The phone will be sold via Flipkart, whose branding is visible on the poster.
The design, based on the teaser, is standard for the segment. The phone appears in a light blue finish with a matte look, and a vertically stacked dual-camera module. The layout is very close to the Redmi A7 Pro that arrived in the Indian market last week at Rs 11,499. The design similarity isn’t surprising as POCO and Redmi often share hardware across segments.
POCO C81 expected and confirmed specifications
The POCO C81 is confirmed to feature a 6,300mAh battery, which is about 20 percent larger than the 5,200mAh unit on the POCO C71. POCO claims the battery will retain up to 80 percent health even after 1,000 charge cycles. There’s also a “cold endurance mode,” which is designed to optimise performance in low-temperature conditions, which is an unusual addition in this segment. Charging remains modest at 15W, but the phone adds 7.5W reverse wired charging, allowing it to power smaller devices if needed.
Other expected and confirmed details include:
Unisoc T7250 chipset
13MP rear camera
Android 16 with Xiaomi HyperOS 3
on spec sheets, this is in alignment with a POCO C81 Pro listing that briefly went up on the Xiaomi global website a few days ago, before being taken down. The POCO C81X, on the other hand, keeps a 5,200mAh battery but retains similar design and charging features, including 15W charging and 7.5W reverse wired charging. It also carries the same 1,000-cycle battery health claim.
If POCO prices the phones close to the Rs 11,000 – Rs 12,000 range, the larger battery could be enough to tip the balance for some shoppers. If not, the Redmi A7 Pro and similar options already offer a very similar experience.
