OPPO Reno 16 Pro Mini leak suggests camera redesign over Reno 15 Pro Mini; Plus Key tipped
The OPPO Reno 16 Pro/Pro Mini design has been leaked via a prototype image and it resembles a very popular recent phone. Here's what we know so far.
If you missed the launch, a leaked EVT image of the OPPO Reno 16 Pro and Reno 16 Pro Mini suggests a redesigned vertical camera module and flat-frame design.
A newly leaked image is said to show the upcoming OPPO Reno 16 Pro and Reno 16 Pro Mini for India. While the leaked unit appears to be an EVT prototype without branding, the design gives an early look at how OPPO may be changing the visual identity of its Reno lineup this year. The leak is interesting when placed beside the current OPPO Reno 15 Pro Mini as the two devices appear to follow very different camera designs.
The image, shared by tipster Debayan Roy, reveals the biggest visible change on the Reno 16 Pro series is the rear camera island. The leaked Reno 16 design uses a vertically aligned pill-shaped module housing two larger sensors, paired with a separate circular camera and LED flash beside it. The layout looks more geometric and industrial compared to the Reno 15 Pro Mini’s softer square camera island. OPPO Reno 16 Pro Mini/Pro leaked image
On the Reno 15 Pro Mini, OPPO used three individually prominent camera rings arranged inside a rounded rectangular module, a bit like the older iPhone Pro models till the 16 series. The Reno 16 Pro and Pro Mini, On another note, resemble the OnePlus 15R‘s camera module, with the lenses in a vertical pill and the flash on the side.
The white finish on the leaked Reno 16 unit also appears flatter and more muted compared to the warmer champagne-gold styling used on the Reno 15 Pro Mini, but there most definitely be more finishes, possibly even with texture. Flat side rails remain, suggesting OPPO is continuing its current hardware language rather than returning to curved frames. The Hasselblad or OPPO branding is not visible on the prototype. As per the tipster, final retail versions may still differ slightly once OPPO applies branding and protective casing during internal testing.
One tipped hardware addition on the Reno 16 series is the Plus Key, which we’ve seen on OnePlus phones till date. OPPO has previously introduced the shortcut-style button concept on devices like the Find N6 and Find X9 series calling it the Snap Key. It triggers AI tools, camera actions, and shortcuts with a single press.
As per the leak, the OPPO Reno 16 series is expected to launch in the country around July or August, and earlier leaks suggested a China debut in June. OPPO hasn’t officially confirmed the lineup yet, and specifications remain unverified for now. If the timeline holds, the Reno 16 Pro series would arrive roughly six to seven months after the Reno 15 Pro Mini entered the Indian market.
