Here is what you need to know: oPPO Reno 16 F 5G with model number CPH2859 has appeared on NBTC, EEC, TÜV, and NBD trade databases.

OPPO’s next Reno-series phone is starting to show up. The OPPO Reno 16 F 5G has been spotted across multiple certification platforms and trade databases, pointing to an upcoming launch that’s likely not far off.

Listings on Thailand’s NBTC, Europe’s EEC, TUV certifications, and the NBD trade database all reference the same model number: CPH2859. All these sightings indicate that internal testing is mostly done and market clearances are underway.

The NBTC listing explicitly names This product as the Reno 16 F 5G, confirming the name and 5G support. It’s categorised as standard cellular equipment with support for GSM, WCDMA, LTE, and NR networks.

The TUV certification adds a more useful detail: 80W fast charging. That aligns with OPPO’s current mid-segment charging setup and suggests the Reno 16 F will continue to prioritise quick top-ups over pushing peak performance. 1 of 4

There are also hints at storage configurations. Trade database entries show shipments of the CPH2859 variant with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, which is one of the variants and indicates OPPO isn’t treating this as a low-cost, barebones offering.

The ‘F’ models in the Reno lineup are usually the more practical versions in the series, built around battery life, charging, and everyday usability. They’re watered-down versions of OPPO’s main Reno models which are generally all-rounders with flamboyant designs.

The Reno 15 F 5G, launched in January this year, packed a 7,000mAh battery into an 8.1mm body, paired with 80W charging. The phone ran on a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chip, used a 120Hz AMOLED display, and focused on camera usability with 50MP sensors on both the rear and front. It also added IP69 durability. That model didn’t make it to India though. The Reno 15 F was carrying a price tag of EUR 380 (around Rs 40,000) in Europe, whereas the standard Reno 15 was sold at EUR 650 (around Rs 70,000).

Based on that pattern, the Reno 16 F 5G is likely to stick to the same formula. Expect strong battery life, fast charging, and a balanced spec sheet rather than a big jump in performance. The confirmed 80W charging already points in that direction.

Buyers who want something that lasts long, charges quickly, and handles daily tasks without fuss, this series usually delivers. If gaming performance or top-end silicon matters more, the regular options are stronger buys.
