In case you were waiting for clarity, oPPO has announced the launch details of its upcoming F33 series. This lineup is expected to include two phones: OPPO F33 and F33 Pro. Ahead of the launch, which is scheduled to take place in the country on April 15th, OPPO has revealed key camera details of the F33 series. OPPO is also teasing the F33 series as a ‘selfie mid-ranger’ with great focus on the cameras of both phones.

OPPO F33 series camera details

The OPPO F33 Pro is confirmed to feature a 50MP ultra-wide front camera with a 100-degree field of view. There’s also a smart auto-switch to 0.6x for group selfies. This could work like the iPhone 17’s Center Stage on the front camera that automatically adjusts the frame to accommodate more people. The OPPO F33 Pro could appeal to people who prefer taking group selfies.

It’s also getting features like AI Groupfie Expert, AI Portrait Glow, Dual-View Video, and a Colourful Front Fill Light for enhanced photography and video experiences. This is a multi-colour flash system designed to bring studio-style lighting to everyday selfies. This device is also said to feature a dedicated face distortion correction algorithm that detects up to six faces simultaneously, so that even subjects at the edges of the frame retain natural proportions.

The OPPO F33 Pro gets a 6.57-inch flat display, making it a slightly compact form factor compared to handsets with larger displays. This device is also said to be slim and built for comfortable one-hand use, weighing 194g.

The OPPO F33 series will feature a 50MP main camera with an OV50D40 sensor and a 2MP depth camera at the back. These could be the same specs for the F33 and F33 Pro, with the selfie camera probably differentiating the two phones.

In terms of design, the OPPO F33 series comes with a new ‘Starry Sea Lens’ module, which is a large, rounded-rectangular island with two lenses lined up vertically with a ring-flash on the side. The F33 Pro will launch in three colour options: Misty Forest, with pine tree silhouettes on the rear panel, Starry Blue, and Passion Red with a metallic finish.

Based on the details so far, the OPPO F33 series, the Pro model in particular, is designed with group selfies in focus. It’s recommended for people who like taking selfies, especially for social media. Its compact and durable design, and possibly a large battery, also make the OPPO F33 Pro a good mid-segment option.
