If you missed the launch, onePlus Ace 6 Ultra has been officially unveiled in China as a gaming-focused smartphone. This device prioritises sustained gaming power, high refresh visuals, and raw performance. OnePlus has even launched a compatible controller for the Ace 6 Ultra, aimed to deliver an enhanced gaming experience. With this launch, OnePlus appears to be carving out a clearer identity in the gaming segment. It already offers performance-focused phones, but this one clearly prioritises gaming, thereby adding another option in its portfolio.

OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra specifications

At the heart of the phone sits the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, a premium-tier processor designed to rival Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon chips. OnePlus pairs it with a new “Wind Chaser Gaming Kernel” and a revamped “Glacier Cooling System” for heat dissipation. The company claims near 165 fps gameplay in Delta Force at maximum settings, which, if achievable, would put it ahead of many current gaming-focused phones.

Up front, the Ace 6 Ultra comes with a 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPS panel from BOE with a 165Hz refresh rate. It also comes with a 4000Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate via the Lingxi Touch Core. In theory, this should translate to near-instant response times in fast-paced games. Durability is another talking point. With IP66, IP68, and IP69K ratings plus OPPO Crystal Shield Glass, it offers one of the best durability ratings among premium-tier phones.

New gaming controller

OnePlus has also launched a new “Gunfire Gaming Controller” that adopts a joystick-less design and includes mechanical triggers with a 1.8ms response time. This should give people an experience closer to a handheld console while playing on the Ace 6 Ultra. This phone also comes with features like enhanced footstep audio and crosshair overlays, which should help in competitive shooter games.

The Ace 6 Ultra also boasts a massive 8,600mAh battery, which makes sense considering the phone would need enough juice for long gaming sessions. Combined with 120W fast charging, the Ace 6 Ultra should deliver quick top-ups.

OnePlus has introduced the Ace 6 Ultra at CNY 3,799 (Rs 52,700 approx) for the base model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. This phone is available in four more configurations. The gaming controller is sold separately at CNY 449 (Rs 6,300 approx). There’s no word on whether OnePlus will bring the Ace 6 Ultra to other markets like India. But it has usually kept the Ace lineup exclusive to China.

Based on the official details, the Ace 6 Ultra is recommended to those whose primary use case is gaming, especially fast-paced shooter games. The high refresh rate, ultra-fast touch response, and large battery directly address real gaming needs. It can also be considered by power people who prioritise raw performance and endurance, and who are planning to upgrade to a new premium-tier. That said, for people who want top-tier cameras and don’t really need the extra performance, they might want to skip the Ace 6 Ultra. It’s also advised to wait for reviews to see how much of a difference the Ace 6 Ultra makes in comparison to other phones.
