OnePlus 15s tipped to launch in India by Q2 end, will likely be based on the OnePlus 15T
The OnePlus 15s could launch soon in the country as a compact premium-tier option. This product will be based on a phone that has recently debuted in China.
In case you were waiting for clarity, onePlus 15s is tipped to launch in the country by Q2 end or early Q3, likely based on the China-only OnePlus 15T.
OnePlus looks set to refresh its compact premium-tier lineup in the country. A tipster has revealed the prospective launch timeline of the OnePlus 15s for the country, Early details suggest it will be largely based on the OnePlus 15T, which launched in China in March this year.
Tipster Debayan Roy says the OnePlus 15s is expected to arrive in the country around the end of Q2 or slip into early Q3. That’s around May-June, and the same timeline as the launch of the predecessor, the OnePlus 13s, last year. This wouldn’t be the only repeat of last year’s strategy. The OnePlus 13T was introduced in China and later brought to India as the OnePlus 13s in June. The trend is expected to continue this year as well — offering a smaller premium-tier alongside the main series without cutting corners.
Bigger battery for the OnePlus 15s but same compact pitch
To get an idea of what to expect from the OnePlus 15s, here’s a recall of the OnePlus 15T specifications. The OnePlus 15T sticks to a 6.32-inch display, keeping it in compact territory. The panel is a 1.5K AMOLED with a 165Hz refresh rate and up to 1,800 nits brightness, in line with larger flagships. It runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, paired with an Adreno 840 GPU. Performance positioning remains consistent with other premium-tier launches expected this cycle. OnePlus 15T
Battery capacity moves further up. The 15T includes a 7,500mAh unit, compared to the 5,850mAh battery on the OnePlus 13s. That is higher than most compact phones in this segment. Charging support includes 100W wired and 50W wireless. Camera hardware remains straightforward with a dual 50MP setup with a 3.5x periscope lens. This product also includes IP69K protection, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, and support for magnetic cooling accessories, indicating a performance-focused positioning.
In China, the 15T begins at CNY 4,299 (around Rs 58,000). For context, the OnePlus 13s arrived in the Indian market at Rs 54,999 for the base variant and Rs 59,999 for the higher storage option. With premium-tier pricing moving up across brands this year, the 15s is expected to see an increase. A starting price closer to Rs 58,000, extending towards Rs 65,000 – Rs 68,000 for higher variants, could be more aligned with current trends.
The compact premium-tier segment is getting busy again. Phones such as the Vivo X300, OPPO Reno 15 Pro Mini, Samsung Galaxy S26, and iPhone 17 are all part of a broader preference toward smaller premium devices that are easier to handle without giving up premium-tier-grade performance. For shoppers, that means the market now offers more choices than just oversized performance phones. Battery life is expected to be the headline feature for OnePlus here despite its compact form factor. Most compact phones still prioritise size over endurance. The 15T, and likely the 15s, pushes battery capacity higher than typical for this category, which could translate into more consistent day-long use. This is notable because OPPO is launching a compact Find X9s Pro in China later this month with an expected 7,000mAh+ battery, and the phone is tipped to come to India too.
The OnePlus 15s could be a good fit if you prioritise a small size with premium-tier power and exceptional battery life, especially if OnePlus keeps pricing close to the 13s. That said, compact phones often come at a premium compared to larger models, so it may be worth comparing against the Galaxy S26 for better software support or Vivo’s options for camera focus.
