Motorola has officially revealed the launch date for the Razr Fold in the country. Shortly after teasing its first book-style foldable for India, the Motorola Razr Fold is now confirmed to debut in the country on May 13th. The launch date announcement was made on Motorola India’s X page. The Razr Fold (first impressions) marks a significant shift for Motorola, as it has so far focused primarily on clamshell-style designs in the foldable lineup. Understandably, the Razr Fold will be its most premium foldable offering, possibly sitting at a much higher price bracket.
Motorola Razr Fold India launch details
The Motorola Razr Fold is confirmed to launch in the country on May 13th. The foldable is set to become available to purchase via Flipkart, Motorola’s official India website, and leading retail stores. There’s no word on the pricing yet, but considering it’s the most premium foldable from Motorola, it would sit in a high price bracket, possibly joining the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 and Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold.
Motorola Razr Fold specifications
The Motorola Razr Fold comes with an 8.1-inch LTPO 2K OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 6.6-inch outer display with a 165Hz refresh rate. Both displays support the Motorola Pen Ultra, with productivity-focused features like multitasking modes, a laptop-style interface with a trackpad, and a tent-style desk display for media and notifications. The foldable is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip, which should deliver premium-tier-level performance. This should make the Razr Fold a capable device for regular to moderate tasks.
The Razr Fold has a triple-camera setup with a 50MP for primary, ultra-wide with macro, and a 3x periscope telephoto. There’s a 32MP outer selfie camera and a 20MP inner sensor. The Razr Fold also carries an IP48/IP49 rating for dust and water resistance, which is decent but lacking compared to rivals like the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold, which offers IP68. The Razr Fold, That said, stands out for its 6,000mAh battery with 80W wired and 50W wireless charging support. This is significantly larger than what Samsung and Google offer today, which is between 4,400mAh and 4,800mAh with slower charging speeds, which has often been a pain point for power people.
The phone runs Android 16 with Hello UX, and Motorola is promising up to seven years of OS updates. This is similar to Samsung and Google’s long-term support strategies.
With the launch date now confirmed, only pricing is left for the Razr Fold. It’s carrying a price tag of EUR 1,999 (roughly Rs 2.14 lakh) in Europe, with the Motorola Pen Ultra bundled in the box. The foldable is expected to be priced lower in the country, but it would most likely still carry a hefty price tag. It’s still early to recommend This product, but the Razr Fold could be worth waiting for if you want a foldable with reliable battery life, a versatile camera setup, and productivity-focused software features.
