The Motorola Edge 70 Pro comes with upgrades across performance, battery life, and camera hardware. Take a look at its India price, availability details, and more.
In case you were waiting for clarity, motorola Edge 70 Pro has officially debuted in the country, succeeding the Motorola Edge 60 Pro (review). The new model brings meaningful upgrades across performance, battery life, and camera hardware, positioning itself as a strong contender in its segment. Motorola has also made a few trade-offs this time, most notably skipping wireless charging and a dedicated telephoto lens, citing low use cases. Despite those omissions, the Edge 70 Pro still feels well-rounded on spec sheets. Key specs include the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme chipset, a 144Hz AMOLED display, a 50MP Sony LYT710 primary sensor, and a sizeable 6,500mAh battery.

Motorola Edge 70 Pro price in the country, availability
The Motorola Edge 70 Pro is priced in the country at Rs 38,999 for the base 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant, while its top-end 12GB RAM + 256GB storage option costs Rs 41,999. This device comes in three Pantone-certified colour options: tea, lily white, and titan.
The Motorola Edge 70 Pro will be sold exclusively via Flipkart starting April 29th. As part of the launch offers, buyers can avail discounts of up to Rs 2,100 using select bank cards – bringing the cost down to as low as Rs 36,999.
All three Motorola Edge 70 Pro colour options come with a different finish. The Pantone lily white has a marble-like finish, whereas the Pantone titan boasts the familiar fabric (nylon-like) finish. The Pantone tea comes with a new satin lux finish on the back panel. That said, they all come with MIL-STD-810H military-grade durability and IP68/ IP69 water and dust resistance ratings.
The OEM has also engineered This phone to be slim and lightweight, making it easier to carry it around. The Motorola Edge 70 Pro measures just 6.9mm in thickness and weighs 190 grams. As opposed to the contemporary flat-edge design, This device has opted for curved edges, making it stand apart from the crowd. This phone boasts a Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection on the front and an aluminium alloy unibody for a premium in-hand feel.
main talking points:
Display: 10-bit Extreme AMOLED, 1.5K resolution, 144Hz refresh rate
Performance: MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme SoC
Camera: 50MP+50MP+3-in1 setup at the back, 50MP front camera
Battery: 6,500mAh battery
The Motorola Edge 70 Pro sports a 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED 10-bit display with 5,200 nits peak brightness, up to 144Hz adaptive refresh rate, HDR10+ support, 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut, and Super HD (2,772x1272p) resolution. This is a standard display for a mid-segment smartphone; That said, the Edge 70 Pro is rated to offer Pantone-validated colours and skin tones.
inside, This phone is powered by the 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme SoC, which promises smooth performance and an AnTuTu score of over 2.4 million. The chipset is paired with a 4,600mm2 VC cooling system, LPDDR5X RAM, and UFS 4.1 storage. We’ll evaluate its everyday performance in our full review, but on spec sheets, it positions itself as one of the most powerful smartphones in its segment.
Moving on, the Edge 70 Pro boots Android 16-based Hello UI out of the box with support for three major software updates and five years of security updates. While Motorola has one-upped the security update from its predecessor, it still lags behind the software policy of the competitors, which are now offering at least 4 major OS versions and six years of security updates. This device houses a large 6,500mAh battery, a silicon-carbon type, aided by 90W TurboPower wired charging.
As for the cameras, the Motorola Edge 70 Pro ships with a triple setup at the back, comprising a 50MP OIS Sony LYT-710 main sensor, a 50MP ultrawide + macro lens, and a 3-in-1 light sensor. There is no telephoto lens for a zoomed shot this time around, but you still get a variety of focal lengths with the primary camera for portraits. It will be interesting to see the work done by Motorola behind the scenes to make its main sensor as capable as the telephoto. For selfies and video calling, This phone relies on a 50MP sensor in the punch-hole setup.
Other features include Dolby Atmos-backed dual speakers, Hi-res audio support, an in-display fingerprint scanner, moto AI features, Bluetooth v5.4, Wi-Fi 6E, and dual SIM 5G.
The Motorola Edge 70 Pro goes up against rivals such as the OnePlus Nord 6, Realme 16 Pro, Redmi Note 15 Pro+, and Nothing Phone (4a) Pro in this segment. While each brings its own strengths, the Edge 70 Pro could still give them a run for their money, particularly with its slim and lightweight design. Furthermore, This device promises to deliver a well-rounded experience at least on spec sheets, even though it may not be the outright performance leader or offer the most versatile camera system.
Edge 60 Pro people might be better off skipping this one, but those on older models could find it worth upgrading for the hardware. If you’d prefer a more detailed analysis before making a purchase, keep an eye out for our Motorola Edge 70 Pro review.
