Motorola Edge 70 Pro Geekbench listing spotted, reveals chipset details
The Motorola Edge 70 Pro India launch is nearing and details have started creeping up on different forums. The Geekbench listing reveals the latest.
In case you were waiting for clarity, the Motorola Edge 70 Pro Geekbench listing suggests a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset with 12GB RAM and Android 16.
Motorola’s next Edge phone is on the cusp of launch. After a Flipkart teaser pointed to an April debut for the Motorola Edge 70 Pro, a new Geekbench listing has surfaced on X, with the tipster suggesting the phone will use a MediaTek chipset.
Spotted by tipster Abhishek Yadav on X, the Geekbench listing appears to show the Edge 70 Pro running on the Dimensity 8500 SoC, paired with 12GB of RAM and Android 16. The listed core setup includes one performance core at 3.40GHz, three at 3.20GHz, and four efficiency cores at 2.20GHz, while graphics are handled by a Mali-G720 MC8 GPU. The phone also reportedly scored 1,727 in single-core and 6,563 in multi-core tests, which should be enough for responsive day-to-day use and solid gaming without pushing This product into top-tier premium-tier territory.
The architecture resembles that of the Dimensity 8500, a variant of which is found in the recently launched POCO X8 Pro. The scores of the Edge 70 Pro are also in line with the POCO X8 Pro that we tested internally. That gives a baseline for performance, but the final experience will depend on tuning and thermals.
Motorola Edge 70 Pro Flipkart teaser drops hints on the updates
The Flipkart teaser has already hinted at a curved display, a refreshed camera module, and a continued focus on low-light photography. Design is also an important part of the story, with finishes like tailored fabric blue, satin-luxe olive, and marble-style white confirmed so far. The rest looks like a steady update. A Sony Lytia-based camera with “Super Zoom” is expected, along with HDR10+ support. Battery could move up to 6,500mAh with 90W charging, from 6,000mAh on the predecessor, the Motorola Edge 60 Pro.
Pricing will decide how it lands. The previous model started at Rs 29,999, and if Motorola stays close to that with only a slight bump, the Edge 70 Pro will sit alongside the OnePlus Nord CE 6, Vivo T5 Pro, Realme 16 Pro, Redmi Note 15 Pro and obviously the POCO X8 Pro. Buyers will have plenty of choices, but Motorola may still stand out if it delivers the kind of smooth software, polished design, and dependable cameras that have made the Edge series easy to live with. Current Edge series people might find the upgrades compelling, but consider waiting for full reviews and pricing details before upgrading.
