Fresh off the announcement desk — with leaks showing no signs of slowing down, we’ve reportedly gotten our first look at the dummy unit of Apple’s long-awaited iPhone Fold, iPhone 18 Pro, and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Revealed by the known Apple leaker Sonny Dickson on X, the images posted online show all three iPhones laid out side by side, giving us an idea of the height and width differences among the upcoming iPhones.

How is Apple expected to position the iPhone Fold

Almost in line with the CAD renders shared by Sonny Dickson earlier, the iPhone Fold’s dummy appears to carry a horizontally aligned camera module, much like the iPhone Air, but with dual cameras. That said, the CAD renders show that the pill-shaped camera island extends across the entire rear of the iPhone Fold, whereas the dummy unit images reveal that it extends only slightly past the centre of This product. iPhone Fold and iPhone 18 Pro series dummies [Source: Sonny Dickson on X]

The outer display appears to have symmetrical, rounded corners on the outer side, while the inner display is reminiscent of book-style foldables, much like the OPPO Find N and Find N2 from a few years ago. In comparison to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the recently unveiled OPPO Find N6, it appears that Apple’s foldable will be smaller in dimensions, with the height looking to be considerably shorter than the aforementioned foldable phones.Speaking of the OPPO Find N6, which OPPO touts to carry a ‘crease-less’ display, the dummy unit image just shows a rough implementation of the hinge, with no indication towards how the inner display may appear. Coming back to the camera module, only time will tell whether Apple packs in a telephoto lens or an ultrawide camera along with the primary camera on the iPhone Fold. Considering the primary objective of the iPhone Fold is to offer an expansive display experience, Apple will likely go the main camera + ultrawide camera route, like the base iPhones. iPhone Fold and iPhone 18 Pro series dummies [Source: Sonny Dickson on X]

On to the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max dummies, the images show identical designs to the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, featuring a large rectangular camera island comprising three cameras, an LED flashlight, and likely the LIDAR sensor. Apart from that, MagSafe identations can also be visible on the dummy units, which appear to be missing on the iPhone Fold’s dummy, indicating that Apple’s first foldable may skip MagSafe charging capabilities.

Apple’s entry into foldables spaces could significantly expand the category, especially among iPhone people. While Android foldables already offer mature hardware and advanced multitasking, Apple’s first foldable is expected to focus on delivering a familiar iPhone experience with a larger, flexible screen. This approach could appeal to people who want a bigger display without having to learn a new interface.

That said, considering the iPhone 17 Pro Max already touches the Rs 1.5 lakh mark, the iPhone Fold will target the absolute elite segment, where shoppers are willing to shell out a huge sum to experience Apple’s take on foldables. Furthermore, the iPhone Fold may attract those seeking simplicity, while people wanting powerful tablet-style multitasking and camera versatility might still prefer current Android options.
