IPhone 18 Pro colour options leaked online: new ‘Dark Cherry’ might become a fan favourite
iPhone 18 Pro launch is expected to take place later this year. Ahead of that, the iPhone 18 Pro colours have leaked online.
Worth noting for Indian buyers — apple’s 2026 iPhone launch event is going to be an interesting one for two things: the much-awaited iPhone Fold and only the iPhone 18 Pro models launching this time. Apple is reportedly changing its launch cycle by moving the base iPhone 18 to next year to launch alongside a possible iPhone 18e and iPhone Air 2. The lineup will continue with iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max launching first, and a new leak has revealed what their colour options could be.
iPhone 18 Pro series colour options
As per a report by MacWorld, Apple is once again refining its signature “hero colour” strategy for the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro lineup, but this year’s direction looks more understated than last year’s bold move. With the iPhone 17 Pro, Apple leaned into a striking, high-energy look with Cosmic Orange, a finish designed to stand out instantly. For 2026, That said, the company appears to be shifting toward something more refined. The rumoured headline colour is “Dark Cherry,” a deeper, wine-like red that trades vibrancy for sophistication. This colour could also very well turn out to be a fan favourite this year. Image credit: MacWorld
Earlier leaks had pointed to a generic “dark red,” but this updated description suggests a richer, more premium tone that seems closer to burgundy than bright crimson.
Apple usually keeps the colours in its Pro lineup, understated, yet premium. In past cycles, it has alternated between eye-catching finishes (like Pacific Blue or Deep Purple) and more subdued, luxury-inspired tones (such as Space Black or Natural Titanium). Dark Cherry seems positioned firmly in the latter camp: less about immediate visual pop, more about long-term appeal.
Alongside Dark Cherry, Apple is reportedly testing a few alternative finishes. A Light Blue option, which could be similar to the softer Mist Blue seen on the standard iPhone 17, potentially offering a more mainstream-friendly choice. There’s also mention of a darker gray variant, likely continuing The company’s tradition of neutral, professional tones, and a classic silver finish similar to current models.
Of course, none of these are guaranteed. Also, four colour options are rumoured for the iPhone 18 Pro, which is usually not the case with the Pro lineup. So one or more of these could be cut before production begins.
The iPhone 18 Pro in Dark Cherry may be a good option for shoppers who want a colour that looks premium and vibrant at the same time. Neutral tones like gray or silver remain the safest picks, while the rumoured Light Blue will be a good option for people who prefer pastel shades.
In short, the iPhone 18 Pro lineup looks like Apple is going back to more subtle tones than how it experimented with the iPhone 17 Pro series. Whether that’s a welcome shift or a step back will depend on whether you prefer your phone to stand out or quietly signal premium taste.
