Dell 15: features and specifications
The competition
The Dell 15 is designed around a clear idea: a capable everyday laptop for general people without many compromises. It comes in two processor options, the Intel Core Ultra 5 225H and the Core Ultra 7 255H, both based on Intel’s Arrow Lake architecture. The laptop comes with a single stick of 16GB DDR5 RAM operating at 5600MT/s paired with a 512GB M.2 NVMe SSD. The laptop has good upgradability and can be improved down the line with an additional stick of compatible RAM and the SSD can likely be bumped up to a 1TB drive as well.
The 15-inch FHD display has a 60Hz refresh rate and up to 300 nits of brightness and uses an anti-glare coating, which should make it comfortable to use in different lighting conditions, including near a window or outdoors. The panel also has Dell’s ComfortView software, which reduces blue light output and can help reduce eye fatigue during long study or work sessions.
On the productivity end, with ExpressCharge, The company claims to recharge the battery to 80 percent in just one hour. This will come in handy for people who forget to charge overnight or need a quick top-up before heading out. The dedicated Copilot key on the keyboard gives quick access to Microsoft’s AI assistant for tasks like summarising documents, generating content, or managing workflows.
The full-size keyboard with a 10-key numeric pad also adds practical value for people who work with numbers frequently, while the lifted hinge creates a slight typing angle that should keep wrists more comfortable during extended use. For connectivity, the Dell 15 ships with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth and includes a full-function USB Type-C port along with other standard ports, which should cover most everyday peripheral and display needs.
At Rs 69,699, the Dell 15 competes with similarly priced Intel Core Ultra laptops from ASUS and Acer, all of which offer comparable hardware in the same price range. Options like the ASUS Vivobook 16 and the Acer Aspire Go 14 are natural alternatives for shoppers shopping in this segment.Where the Dell 15 could offer distinct value is its after-sales backing. Dell’s wide service network makes it a good choice for first-time shoppers and families who value reliable post-purchase support as much as raw specifications.
