Worth noting for Indian buyers — the Ai+ Nova 2 5G and Ai+ Nova 2 Ultra 5G smartphones are set to launch in the country on April 9th. The Madhav Sheth-led brand is also bringing its flip foldable at the same event. This is the Ai+ Nova Flip 5G, which was teased in December last year. This will be the first clamshell foldable from Ai+, and is expected to be priced more affordably than other flip foldables in the market. This is based on the lineup offered by Ai+ so far, which has mostly catered to the entry-level and affordable segment.

The Ai+ Nova Flip 5G has a dedicated microsite on Flipkart, revealing its key specs, features, and design. In terms of design, it looks much like the other clamshell foldables in the market. This product, when folded, measures 7.2mm and weighs 193g, so it should be comfortable to hold and use.

It has a rectangular cover display on the outside with two cameras. The setup includes a 50MP main camera and a 2MP secondary sensor. Inside, there’s a 13MP camera for selfies. These camera specs seem standard for most flip foldables, but performance will tell the real story.

The teaser also confirms a 4,325mAh battery for the Ai+ Nova Flip 5G. Although modest, this battery capacity is what’s available in other clamshell foldables like the Motorola Razr 60 (4,500mAh) and Galaxy Z Flip7 (4,300mAh). Inside, the foldable has a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,200 nits high brightness mode. The cover display details haven’t been revealed yet.

inside of the foldable runs the MediaTek Dimensity 7300X, a 4nm chipset designed for mid-segment phones and flip-style foldables. It should be able to deliver capable performance for regular to moderate usage. On the software front, the Ai+ Nova Flip 5G runs nxtQ OS, which is an in-house privacy-first custom OS for Ai+ smartphones. It remains to be seen how well the software has been optimised for the flip-style foldable.

There’s no hint about the Ai+ Nova Flip’s pricing, but we expect it to be more accessible than other flip-style foldables. If Ai+ keeps the pricing aggressive, it could give the Nova Flip an advantage over rivals in the market. So, if you’re on the lookout for a flip foldable, you might want to wait for the Ai+ Nova Flip.
